2021-2022 Season Fantasy Football Ranks

With the highly anticipated season almost here, let’s take a look at my 2021-2022 fantasy football rankings. I am projecting these players to finish the 2021-2022 NFL season in this rank. At the end of the season, I’ll review and see how close I was.

Quarterback

Josh Allen vaults into the #1 overall QB in fantasy this season, based on continued rapport with his receivers (with the signing of Sanders and development of promising wideout Gabriel Davis) and suspect RBs. Kyler Murray will thrive again this season, with a plethora of talented receivers to throw to, young and old. My semi-sleepers here are Justin Herbert and Jalen Hurts, with the Chargers offense ending up top 5 in scoring this season and Jalen Hurts given plenty of opportunity to shine. He might win you that fantasy championship with garbage time rush yards on deep prevent defenses at the end of games, and a route running technician in Heisman Trophy winner Devonta Smith doesn’t hurt.

  1. Josh Allen
  2. Kyler Murray
  3. Patrick Mahomes
  4. Russell Wilson
  5. Justin Herbert
  6. Dak Prescott
  7. Aaron Rodgers
  8. Lamar Jackson
  9. Jalen Hurts
  10. Ryan Tannehill

  16. Jameis Winston
  17. Baker Mayfield
  18. Trevor Lawrence
  19. Kirk Cousins
  20. Justin Fields

Running Back

There are lots of moving parts in the league, so I believe the end-of-year rankings will truly be different this season, especially with promising rookies in this draft class. CMC still takes the top spot with his dual threat, barring injury of course, even with Darnold at QB. Not being a homer (but maybe a bit being a homer), I see Jonathan Taylor establish himself as an elite running back in the league. JT finished third in rushing yards in the league and he started the season slow with 146 less carries than King Henry, so it’s not far-fetched to project JT to finish top 3 in the league this season.

I also see a drop off on a few of the top running backs being taken in this year’s draft, including Zeke (Tony Pollard and CeeDee Lamb more involved) , Kamara (does Jameis see RBs when he passes?), Henry (Tannehill will be forced to pass a lot more this season), and Aaron Jones (AJ Dillon rising and making an impact).

  1. Christian McCaffrey
  2. Jonathan Taylor
  3. Nick Chubb
  4. Dalvin Cook
  5. Austin Ekeler
  6. Antonio Gibson

  10. Derrick Henry
  11. Joe Mixon
  12. Najee Harris
  13. Clyde Edwards-Helaire
  14. David Montgomery
  15. Aaron Jones
  16. James Robinson
  17. Trey Sermon
  18. Chris Carson
  19. Josh Jacobs
  20. Javonte Williams

Wide Receiver

There are many talented wideouts in the league, especially in a pass-happy league. I see a bit of drop off in some of the top receivers with some sleepers rising up in the rankings, including Brandon Aiyuk, Marques Callaway, Michael Pittman Jr., and Mecole Hardman. They all have the door open for plenty of targets due to injuries or departures, and have been put in place to succeed.

  1. Stefon Diggs
  2. Calvin Ridley
  3. DK Metcalf
  4. Davante Adams
  5. Tyreke Hill
  6. AJ Brown
  7. Allen Robinson II

  13. CeeDee Lamb
  14. Chris Godwin
  15. Odell Beckham Jr.
  16. Brandon Aiyuk
  17. Marques Callaway
  18. Cooper Kupp
  19. Mike Evans
  20. Chase Claypool
  21. DJ Moore
  22. DeVonta Smith
  23. Michael Pittman Jr.
  24. Laviska Shenault Jr.
  25. Mecole Hardman

Tight End

The number of elite tight ends in the league can be counted on one hand, even if that person were missing a couple fingers. You can’t go wrong with Kelce, Waller, or Kittle, but my ranks are a bit different than the consensus. There are some sleepers and deeper sleepers towards the end of my rankings as the TE position can be very volatile.

  1. Darren Waller
  2. Travis Kelce
  3. George Kittle
  4. Mark Andrews
  5. TJ Hockenson
  6. Noah Fant
  7. Mike Gesicki
  8. Jonnu Smith
  9. Logan Thomas
  10. Kyle Pitts
  11. Tyler Higbee
  12. Robert Tonyan

  14. Jared Cook
  15. Dallas Goedert
  16. Kylen Granson
  17. Juwan Johnson
  18. Pat Frerirmuth
  19. Cole Kmet
  20. Donald Parham Jr.
